Ingredients

  • ½ cup rice (uncooked)

  • 2 cups milk (whole or coconut)

  • ¼ cup sugar (adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon or cardamom (optional)

  • 2 tbsp raisins or chopped nuts (optional)

  • In a pot, simmer rice with milk over low heat, stirring occasionally, until soft and creamy (about 20 minutes).

  • Add sugar and stir until dissolved.

  • Mix in vanilla, cinnamon, or cardamom.

  • Add raisins or nuts, serve warm or chilled.
